very soulful eyes. a little lacking in the shallow DOF...well, i'm sure it's there but with a solid background the DOF is sorta invisible. nonetheless, a wonderful portrait. love the tone!

cool portrait of Pete. He has a very expressive face. I like the B+W treatment. I think though, that you could have cropped it in a more interesting way, removing a little more from his back and shoulders. I like the background space in front of him and that would be accentuated more if he was more off center. great job! 9

Peerless as a portrait, unfortunately doesn't work that well as an example of shallow DOF, more colour in the coat (where the shallowness is apparent) may have helped.
