Greetings...

Guns and Roses are things that are generally associated for the purpose of showing differences rather than similarities. For a "Things that go together" challenge, this might not be the strongest choice of items for that reason. This combination of items have a yin/yang type balance of opposites rather than a harmonious balance in the way you might consider pancakes and maple syrup.

Your photograph feels a bit static in its composition. The soft focus doesn't seem to work particularly well here due to the nature of your subjects. The perspective from wich you chose to make this photo doesn't give the viewer any sense of depth. A different angle... maybe looking at the rose and the barrel of the gun from slightly above would create a nice depth perspective for this photo and still relay the sense of 'togetherness' that you were aiming for in this image. I also generally like dark backgrounds, but in this particular case, your subjects appear to be floating in space with no 'grounding'. Having some visible surface is not a bad thing in most cases... especially when the subject(s) of the photograph are stationary and inanimate.

Good luck in future challenges :)

Out of focus. Poorly composed. Lighting is rotten. This picture scored a point or two higher than it should have. Luck. Stop wasting your time.

lighting seems a bit harsh in this shot, to much glare on the gun and the bottom of the rose, nice idea though.

This is a cool shot. I think, though, a razor-sharp focus would have made it more effective. The composition is nice.

Nice setup... It unfortunately appears unfocussed to me.

a nice idea, compositionally sound. It seems that your focus is a little off though. Did you use a tripod?

this is too soft, especially the rose. I like the lighting on the revolver but it doesn't carry up far enough onto the rose. I think the rose should be equally well lit.

Great Idea looks a little off focus but it still works Clever

Great idea! Wish I'd thought of it. Maybe a little soft on the focus.

The rendering of the metallic sheen is well done, but the whole picture is kind of soft, and the top of the rose lacks any detail.

Very soft focus. Do much light and you could have made this photo better by editing in Photoshop.
From me you get 4

This shot would be a winner if the focus had been sharp. 4

I always associated Guns and Roses with hard rock rather than soft focus! :)

Very creative idea! Didn't think to use a band name for an entry. Things that I would change: focus and cropping. I would crop the top, left and right sides a bit tighter to give it a more vertical, slimmer feel. The details of the gun barrel and the rose petals are a bit blurry.
