 A hummingbird moth on a thistle. I've been trying harder lately to look carefully at some of the more ordinary things around here, to see and appreciate the beauty of things like a bug on a weed.

Had the teleconverter on for a focal length of 420mm on this shot.

Thought about cropping or cloning out the OOF thistles or cropping the whole subject much tighter but ultimately decided I liked the heavier composition with the text underneath.

PP - converted from RAW, dodged moth slightly, added border, resized, sharpened, added text, increased saturation.

i like this but the the capture is a little dark. that darkness seems to be accentuated by the black border
