Thanks for the positive comments guys! I took about 35 shots of these particular droplets and decided to submit this one. However I did have another lighter version that I considered submitting.

As far as what I did... I originally tried to make the zodiac sign with just 2 rows of water droplets and decided it was too plain. So, after rumaging around in my kitchen for some liquid that was blue I came across some blue raspberry snow cone syrup.

I prepped the class with some Rain-X, thanks to my beautiful wife, she suggested the Rain-X. This allowed the liquids to bead up on the glass. I then used a squirt bottle to coat the glass with varying sizes of water bubbles. I dried up a small section in the middle of the water and used a dropper to begin laying out the syrup in the rows you see. That took a while, mainly because I'd get one bubble too close to another and end up with a larger one then expected.

If anyone wants to see any of my other pics of this particular scene please feel free to let me know, I'd be happy to send you any. I'm just happy I got a decent score for my first post. =)

very interesting....how did you get the drops different colors?

Interesting shot. I like it!

Great idea but composition of droplets doesn't feel balanced. Clear droplets overpower the blue ones, which I assume, from their relevant pattern, are the intended focal point.

I like this a lot, very sharp and the colors are good.

I really have no idea what any of the Zodiac stuff means, but I know this is a cool photo-nice job.

Beautiful macro.

I like this effect... it's well rendered. I think a boarder would help it a bit... as it is, the photo doesn't seem well contained.

Actually Aquarius is an air sign not a water sign. Although it is the water bearer, it's still an air sign. Interesting photo though... I reeally like it. I think It would hae been even better with a closer crop....

a brighter exposure would have really helped this - the orangy/ grey background isn't very appealing

The angle makes it a little difficult to make out the sign (design). Good interpretation. Interesting shot.

Oh, the water drops again. I really don´t know how people continues to upload this water shots. How this can be related with zodiac? Hey, it´s nothing about aquarius...

You stole my idea! I did the same thing but with a red backround. Great idea with the dye. I had to setup up blue lights for hours to get the rigth refraction. I'll give you 10 if you give me 10. hehe ;)
