Well .... this shot was just fun! No bats were hurt during the lengthy photo session although many were disappointed their efforts were directed at a bogus fly secured to fishing line.

This is what can be accomplished with too much free time while on vacation. Enjoy.

I must agree with Blackbox and disagree with the other comments that wanted a closer crop. The drak area is what bats are all about.
Great shot. And thanks again for your patience and efforts.
way under rated.

Eww is that real? I like the use of a black background for this.

Love the negative space -- curious how you got the bat to hold still long enough!

I sort of wish the crop was a little tighter around the bat just so we could see more of what was going on. Looks like a neat shot though.

Maybe a little too much negative space here - but a great catch...

I really like the use of negative space. Good job on the lighting too. I can't tell whether or not the bat is real, but if so I hope he didn't get caught on the fly hook. ;-) High marks for a creative and unique entry.

You will be punished for being so small, but a nice bat. I've caught bats when flyfishing, so I know what ya did. Well done.

Awesome, wish it was a little closer.

That's a lot of negative space just a bit to much for me but still nice.
