 Adding comments midchallenge. I did not really expect this image to score as high as it is riding right now. 60 votes in and my score is at 6.91. Whooh hooh!!! Here is my original entry.

That image was taken Monday afternoon after going to Wendys and asking for two triple burgers with nothing on them. The bun, cheese and veggies were all bought at the grocery store and then the burger assembled at home. I attempted some straight forward meal shots - fries and pop - but they all came out really boring. I then took it outside and shot it as you see above. Cheeseburger of the Gods was going to be the title. Now remember that this was shot on Monday.

I stuck the burger in the fridge wrapped up just in case I had better lighting to reshoot. THe week goes by and Sunday comes along. Hadnt moved the burger from the fridge since Monday and I was now getting ready to chuck it. Aimee was working on some church stuff and the kids were just goofing around so I took Aidan out to our garage studio and had him hold the burger to his mouth. Popped off a bunch of shots of him holding it and then Rowan holding it. My entry is from that shoot.

I did nothing to the burger since Monday. I didnt freshen up the veggies or trade out bun. That is just the burger after sitting in the fridge for a week. Aidan wanted to eat the cheese. I had to keep telling him no.

So for all of you who wanted to eat this burger, know that the tomatoes were borderline slimey, the bun was stale and the meat was as dry as can be. Yummm!

With only 70 entries I am guessing to ribbon one would need a high 7. I dont see me getting there, but watching this score is much more enjoyable than watching my 5.1 in the FS.

Good crisp shot, great looking model, really gross food. Nice finish with this and stronger than your original entry, which wasn't bad to begin with.

I thought it was your boy Tim! Well done, you thrashed me in this challenge! I am glad you used this one and not the other one...lighting is fantastic on this...and you shot it on the Sabbath, isn't that a no, no??? Doesn't Deuteronomy 12:11 say: "I am the Lord Your God who bought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. You shall not take any photographs on the Sabbath for in the day you do you shall surely transgress the Sabbath" :-) well done

Good looking portrait shot, superb eye contact, shame that huge burger got in the way ;-) If i was being really picky, the turned up sleeve is a little off putting. 8

now THAT's a burger! Terrific shot, the over-doing it really drives home the way that most fast food is shot to look like more than it is. Great colour and using the boy for scale helps too. 9

Yikes! That thing is nearly as big as his head. :) Cute. Good lighting and focus on the boys face. Nit-pik on details...the shirtsleeve needs attention. :P

Lol - now THAT'S a burger! . . .and enough food to feed a small country for a week - hah, ha. Nicely done, although his expression does look a bit worried. This should place very highly in the challenge. Best of luck.

I know what those expectations are.... childhood obesity! Hurray! lol. Sorry I could not avoid that.


The burger looks almost too perfect to me. I know that is how fast food photography is but perhaps if you had zig zagged the cheese or somthing? I think I'd like to see more of the expression from the boy... like perhaps the burger lower and him looking at it in awe or excitment.
