 I really hope people understand how this meets the challenge. The flower triumphed above all odds and grows in a harsh environment....

I don't think this will do well, but it is a really different style AND it isnt a portrait!!! I really wanted to do something like this for a challenge because I have been focusing so much on portraiture. This is also a very different kind of post processing. I really like this shot.

Missed this in the challenge (in fact, I didn't vote at all). Perfectly meeting the challenge, great POV, DOF and colors. Not too fond of the border, though.

yeah, sometimes it's just good to photograph something different than the thing you're used to. it frees the mind, so to say..!

this looks wonderful.. the colors are good and contrasting, great DoF!

Excellent photo technically. Nicely captured, composed and the post is terrific. But the subject's relevance to triumph is a bit soft, IMHO. I know ... flora triumphing over rocks, and dry ground. To my eye, a 10 photo in a 5 challenge.

I like the composition of this shot. The diagonal is pleasing. The light level is spot on. I think the Triumph theme would have worked better here if you removed the other flower in the background and then adjusted the aperture for a greater DOF. Just a thought. BTW, I really like your choice of border for this shot.

The picture alone, without the title, doesn't really read as triumph, but I love the photo. So while I usually give lower scores to photos that rely on their title to meet the challenge, I'm giving this one of my top scores for this challenge. Nice work. The texture, the diagonal composition, the pop of yellow... all wonderful.

Really like the pp here and the contrast between the bright yellow and the greys. Love the use of dof .
