 This is kind of a stretch for this challenge and I'm going to get hammered for the American tribute but I'm going to try anyway. Predicting a 5.5 or so.

Good clarity and contrast, with great foresight of the background. Blown highlights on the head are a bit distracting, but overall a contender.

Ok - it's a bit of a stretch for me but I'll give the nod and say this fits the challenge (after reading the title). You've done a good job of getting detail in the browns without completely blowing out the whites - Bald Eagles are tough. I wish the photo were just a little more crisply focused, though. Also, I assume there is a reason why we are not seeing legs and yellow feet?

Nice capture - Great pose from this great bird and the sharpness is spot on. Just a tad off on the blown out highlights.
