| I would have to say that what makes this picture so great is it's simplicity. Sometimes people OVER think their ideas, but this one comes out simple but just nails the challenge. I should've been thinking origami, since I live in Japan...but alas, I didn't. I have however tried to duplicate the shot with little success. I need to work on my lighting. You have it down pat!! Love it!! |

| This was my personal pick for blue ribbon. Very nice indeed. So simple to make and print something like that in photoshop yet I've never seen anyone do that before. It's these kinds of things that make excellent photos--simple, original ideas. Your set-up, lighting, focus, exposure, all that stuff is all nice, but the idea itself is what won. I love this stuff and I love seeing images like this win. Congrats =] (Nice message, too. Honour killings should be condemned by all levels of government in those nations, not just discouraged.) |

If ever there was a shot that should have been above 8, this is it. It is thoroughly enjoyable to see your work. Your ideas are wonderful, and the way you make them real is truly fascinating.

Great photo. What a smart idea with the photocopying the paper! never would have thought of somethinglike that.
I also like that you take advantage of the fact that many people will see your photo, to promote causes that are very important |

Very nice shot, setup, lighting. I love a pic that has had lots of thought put into it.

| The funny thing about you moving into the "blue" position is thatI couldn't believe that it wasn't the blue to begin with. This is another amazing idea and I think this sorta creative thought deserves high praise as it has here. well done. |

| Marvelous idea and execution. To take that conceptual leap from presenting a paper swan on "water" of any sort, to a sea of musical notes that illustrates the word play with swan on a lake/Swan Lake is admirable. Edges of the swan against the black look slightly jaggy on my monitor - don't know if it's down to lighting or sharpening. Nevertheless this shot rates a 10 from me. |

| While technically a "Still Life", your composition suggests movement, which I think is counter to the challenge. Neat shot, though. |
