Hey there!
I happened upon this sight while looking for a place to expand my abilities, and I know I have found just that .
I am mostly a lurker, and spend what little "me" time I have here. I try to vote on as many challenges as I can, and always always check out the challenge winners.
Shortly after I first became a member, I launched a graphic design/digital publishing venture I call Black River Graphics. I am also a Certified Heritage Consultant and Heritage Makers DTG. I had first thought to give it a go as a photographer, but found that my talents are stronger on other areas, like the publishing aspect, and the g/d. I love it, and am always trying to improve my "skills". The only photgraphy I do is generally in vintage/custom guitars, and that's pretty fun. I do work with photos, but usually my clients as I help them write and publish their books, portfolio's, etc.
A huge part of what I do professionally is introducing the concept of heritage. I believe that we have the capability to create heritage to influence the ones we love and care for. When you combine image with story, the result is a powerful vehicle for communication. There are so many in this world who do not understand their value and worth, and it is a personal mission of mine to help them realize this. I am so passionate about this movement towards the intentional formation of the legacy you give your family, it's not even funny :). It's so important that people know that they are powerful, and worth all of the dreams and good things they really want for themselves, and their families. This is what I see in Heritage Makers, and this is how I help people use Heritage Makers. It's amazing, humbling, and very fullfilling. We are being feature in a fall edition of "O" Magazine, on the "List", Oprah's top 10 favorites for Christmas, and I am sweatin'. Any of you out there who get it, I mean really get what I am telling you, drop me a line--I am looking for other people who believe in this movement, and who are willing to take advantage of what this will mean for our company, and potentially for you.
I invite all of you to visit my website,and give it a try. The studio is very simple, and easy to use (I just had an 86 year old woman create and publish a book). After the 23rd of August, a lifetime membership will be free. If you would like one before that, let me know and I will set one up for you. For any member of, DPC I will transfer a 5x7 post card for you to have fun with. You won't believe the amazing things you can do with this.
Love this place, and am making a concerted effort to make comments when I vote, and even getting up the guts to participate in another challenge. The last one I did, I went with my husbands choice, and think I would have gotten a better score on the one I really wanted to submit. Ya live, ya learn!
