 Well I finally got a lens with a decent zoom. And macro capabilities as well! Not that the Sigma 70-300 can really focus this close. Lucky I've got a clip on macro converter that fits most lenses regardless of thread (though only at the long end of the zoom). Using the two together it is possible to get REALLY close. Of course I had to use manual focus - a first for me. I was pretty pleased with this result for a first effort. Can't wait to play around with it a bit more.

This image is uncropped - the only processing was autolevels, resize, unsharp mask.

Awesome macro! I would love to be able to get a lens like this but I am limited because of what kind of camera I have. You should be taking all kinds of fun shots now!

nice work. you know, when you stare at a macro, and think of the object's "natural" size, it can get a bit freaky. :)
