 You are looking at a macro of an abalone shell inlay in a world globe. The big lines are lat/long lines, and the skinny lines are the inlay edges. This happens to be the western Australian coast!

This is the same globe that was used for a similar entry for "Abstract Macro", but different lighting, different hardware and software - I'm hoping to out-do my original from last year!

Used 68mm of extension tube to add to the macro.
Cropped, levels, colors and saturation, sharpened, resized, resharpened, noise reduction and added a simple border. 6.0426

Oh I've seen something like this before and I am sure I have it in my favourites......just went and checked, nope, it's not in my favourites but I did give it a 10 in the challenge. I will add this one to my favourites because I tink this is better than the last one, it's brighter and more colourful. And how could I not give this a 10 when it's better than the last one you took? Great job!

abalone ??????? a large mollusk of the genus Haliotis, having a bowllike shell bearing a row of respiratory holes, the flesh of which is used for food and the shell for ornament and as a source of mother-of-pearl... but, not sure if that's correct.. i likeee this..
