Over 2000 people plunge in English Bay every year on New Years Day, the cold waters only seem to increase the fun. This year there was snow on the beach as the swimmers jumped in! The oldest participant was 92 years old, it was her 75th polar bear swim!

very crisp. I like the little added sharpening, it ads more detail to the splashing water. the water makes the pic...good job and good luck! ds

Definately an action shot. Love the stopped motion of the water droplets all around the swimmers. Doesn't look cold, but I'll take your word for it. The lighting is good. No annoying shadows or bright spots, so it looks like the weather was cooperating even though it was cold. The angle is good for the shot as well. I think that it was good to capture the splashes and water droplets. Good job. ~Heather~

Bah -- the heck with that! We have a group here in Pittsburgh that does this every New Year's also. I have trouble jumping into a pool in the middle of summer! Then again, any time you can see babes in bikinis in the middle of winter, it can't be all that bad! Nice shot -- I'm going to grab another blanket now... :)

I don't know what I like about this shot. . . ok. . . I really do! And it isn't the bubble water or the male diving in!! Great shot. BOL

Good stop action shot. I like how you focused on this person. Good choice of models to shoot. Very athletic, makes you want to see more of her. That makes this photo have something a little extra special. Title is way too much. Polar Plunge would have sufficed. 8.

Bet that's cold! One we saw last year and the water was 4c...

Good shot here, nicely captured water splashes. Maybe could have cropped a bit off the top? Or, just shown one swimmer with a portrait shot? 9/10

BRRRRR. The is action! Great freeze-frame (no pun intended) of the woman. (minor) something about the other body detracts from the compostion - maybe seeing more of the person would help.
