 Simple shot of a whisk (aka egg beater) sourced from a kitchen drawer. Shot using a combination of natural "northern light", 580EX bounced from behind and an LED torch handheld to the left (of frame). Taken with 20D and Sigma 150mm f/2.8 Macro from a distance of maybe 1 foot. Didn't realize until later I'd shot this, and a ton of other macro outtakes, at friggin' 800 ISO (left from a couple shots the night before).

RAW conversion in ACR 4.1 with further post in PS CS3 ... mostly to brighten the whites using a series of Selective Color layers, taking 'Blacks' down on the white spectrum and neutralizing white balance.

I like the visual representation. Very clever. This could easily be one those springy shaped kitchen whisks , a slinky or just a spring. Though I have a hunch I could be wrong ;)

a good use of curves and repetition. the dof works well with the composition you have chosen. there is no color in the shot, I wonder how a contrasty b/w would look? nice job. My guess- an egg whisk :-)

Spring? But the metal seems too thick. So maybe a really big spring? Nice echo of the shape in the background to add an extra element to the photo.
