I have no idea what this is called, but it's the tip of a huge flower that just started to sprout out of my cactus.. It's never done this before so I'm not sure of what it's actual name is..

I think the close-up looks like the alien baby pods from the movie..

In fact that is exactly what you are looking at. If I were you I would go to the lowest part of my house and stay there until Authorities have arrived. They have been dispatched. Nice lighting and composition by the way. :)

Some kind of plant? I think more saturation would help. The colors are pretty dull.

Lots of flowers look like aliens before they open up and show their inner beauty. I sure hope this is a flower.

Lovely, dream-like look (though on the nightmarish end of the spectrum, obviously). Does look wholly alien. (a bud of some sort?)

A plant bud. It does look alien. I wish the centre of the bud was more focused. Nice warm colours and interesting lines.
