You have developed a good eye for capturing your world and displaying it to us. I like the off-kelter screen. It forces me to follow the whole edge of the photo. That is pretty unusual as I almost always look inside the picture. But it works wonderfully to heighten the feeling that the butterfly is caught inside the frame. It wouldn't be so effective without a border. |

this was a tough challenge and I think you approached it the same as I did in that you entered a photo to make people looking at it ask why/what/huh and not have the photo ask a question of the viewer
I liked my photo and I like yours but I think we both got that part wrong
on to the actual photo... it is great :) my only problem is the border, it's not that you used a drop shadow as I like that, it is just that the top left has no definite edge but blends with the background which screws with the 3d effect and keeps drawing my eye away from the main subject
I don't think you could have rotated it to have the mesh lineup on the side and the top at the same time so I think a 1px border around the mesh, but only just enough to lift the corner off the background (a very light gray as black would be to harsh)
If I had taken this shot it would be hanging on my wall by now :) |

i love the contrast in this and also love the fact that this can look very delicate and elegant and can hurt my eyes at the same time :)

I like the processing and the image a lot. But my question is WHY did you put it in this challenge? |

really nice image ... but I'm having trouble relating this to the challenge ... what question is it asking? what is it answering? |

hmmmm.... I am not sure how to rate this on technicalities. It appeals to me in some ways. I do not feel the connection to the challenge though. Interesting. It would look great on my wall and I would have it there over any picture I see in the competition Maybe even on DPC as a whole, and yet I think I score it with a 6. I think this photo goes to show that score is not what matters here, it is overall impression of the photo....
I am not a good photographer, I do not claim to be better than anyone, any criticism is meant to be constructive criticism...... |

Interesting photo - it really baffles my eyes. Border works well. Not really sure where the "why" is though? |
