 I shot this today. Only editing was a slight crop and little tweaking of levels. It may or may not be my best December photo, but it's one I like a lot. Tough category.

Even the drops of water in its beak, as far as I can tell. Gorgeous colour. Tiny bit of tension at the left and bottom of the frame, but you certainly got 'the moment'.

The gull alone doesn't do much for me, but the circles in the water makes the photo work. Gave you a 7.

Good light, color, focus. I do think removing the 'droppings' would of been more appealing. Other then that this is really a good photo. Might be cropped a little tight on the left-hand side. Good luck in the challenge.
