 I believe in God and think that the cross is an enduring reminder of His presence.

The downside of the pic is that this is part of a memorial for a nun who was murdered. A priest was recently convicted for committing the crime.

Well I will be honest and say I thought that this image whilst good was not great (please understand I thought it was good though --- I gave it 6)

However the poigniancy of the story is incredible and knowing what I do now about the image really adds to it

I guess true faith is recognising that such things occur is down to failings in man rather than God

Michelle, I think this is a beautiful photo! I really think that it symbolizes what this challenge was asking. What can I say? I think that there's a certain "look" that voters look for in a shot and they stick that that sort of an "eye" for that "look". Anything outside of that gets an "average score". Quite sad, actually as this one deserved a far higher mark, given what I'm seeing of others entered into this challenge.

Michelle, this is beautiful. Very well processed (the vignaetting really enhances this photo so much). Yes. The story is so sad. Whatever went so amuk in that priest's heart! Unbelievable!

wot can i say?? ... its hard enough to express our beliefs in words let alone in a photograph .. i think many ppl just took photographs of churches whether they believe or not .. good on you for doing something that you truly believe in .. it may not have scored that great, but 106 out'v 305 is pretty good when i consider the amazing talent in this site ... and by the way ... you're one of them !!! :):)

Great iconic imagery, and nice simple composition. The cross seems oversharpened though.
