Cut the symbols in a piece of black foam then glued to an old box. Translucent paper behind, 100w light bulb. Shot in darkness in RAW.

Process: Increase saturation and color 100% in CS3. Then convert. Layers added for Hue/Sat. Converted background to B&W. USM, Resize, USM, save for web.

A square crop would have been much more appropriate for this photo I think, and instead of having verticle on one side and horizontal on the other i think on the bottom it would have been more effective flipped so that the left side wouldn't be so heavy compared to the other side
