| To me, one of the most attractive features on a pencil is the joint of painted wood and shaved wood to make the point. Backing off just a little bit would have brought out that contrast of materials and added a lot to your picture, even if it was a bit less macro. |

| Wow! This is a strong impact image. Great composition with the pencil lead tip positioned to point to one corner angled from the opposite one. Choice of background colour is spot on. Light and textures look great. |

| Good use of composition and lighting, nice effect. Interesting patchy background. I'm guessing that you used a Canon 10D with a 50 millimetre F 1.8 lens and extension tubes. |

| Nice sharp point. Nice clarity and sharpness. Might have been a little crisper toward the top if a smaller aperture was used but really small apertures are sometimes hard to come by on digital cameras. You may have used a small aperture but the DOF is so shallow because of being so close to subject too.(?) I have tried this type of show in the past without much success so I am impressed. Good luck with the challenge! |
