 This guy was so good. He was surfing through the pier pilings! The surf was not very big, but this guy was making the most of it. He was pretty cute too, if a bit thin.
Convert from raw: sharpness and shadow adjustment.
PS: Levels, remove color, resize, usm, save for web.

Post: Top 10 is all good! Oh, and I was standing on the pier so I didn't get wet at all.

I'm not sure why you went with the B&W, but it works with the guy's wetsuit. Nice & crisp!

Super photo. Love the water/surf and the dark figure against it; all angles in composition work well; and the BW allows the picture to say just enough.

The best surfing picture in the challenge. I like the clarity of your subject, but by far the strongest aspect of this shot is the composition, it works very well.

this is a good image, I just wish you had put a polarizer on your lens to bring out the water droplets more, and take out the glare more.


Great comp, excellent bg, great capture, light good, blacks a bit deep, whites almost blown out, nice movement, emotional value ok, tonal value needs tweaking, overall a very good attempt.
