You asked for my comment on what would make a shot like this more "ribbon likely" and here it is :)
I like this shot but on DPC some people seem to have something against photos of kids and vote lower because of that, probably since it seems you spent little effort on this shot, that would probably account for some of the 2, 3 and 4 votes. Personally I would have wanted to see the backround just a bit darker and more fill lighting on her but that´s just my taste, that would make the bubbles stand out more. Also the shot seems slanted down to right and anal people will knock off points for that.
I really like the moment you caught, seems very genuine and that sure is one cute little cousin :) Don´t know if this comment helps at all but best I could come up with :P |

Hello from the Critique Club:
I didn�t vote in the Bubbles Challenge so this is the first time I�ve looked at your image. My first impression was �Wow, this is a fun image�. The joy in the girl�s face is infectious and the lighting and focus are perfect. Obviously, a lot of people had the same impression, as your score was very good on this shot. I think the comments you received sum up the few short comings this image has very well. The horizon looks tilted and the crop needs to be a bit tighter on the girl, as the background is fighting her for attention. With a simple 5 degree rotation counterclockwise and a crop to place her at the right third of the image, the girl and the bubbles take on a stronger presence. A great capture and I�m sure your cousin loves the shot you took of her. Nice job.

| A fantastic, fun and spontaneous looking shot. The frozen moment of the girl and bubbles is perfect. The lighting and DOF have worked together to simultaneously isolate the subject yet also place the whole image in context. My eye goes straight to the girl, then to the bubbles and finally goes "wow" at the expanse of the background - it tells a story. Well done |

| Excellent subject, light and colors. the only thing that might make stronger would be a slightly more offset subject (slightly to the right in the frame) and if the horizon appeared either level or even more exaggerately not level. 7 |

| The bubbles are a little hard to see. Excellent composition, feeling of fun and action. Nice sharp focus on the girl, with the background out of focus. This one makes me smile, and truly captures the spirit of the contest - think bubbles. Might have been a bit better if the girl's eyes were open more. |
