Good catch... Over exposed and a bit digitized. A keeper though. |

Very cute. I wonder if you will get comments about not having children in your photo. cause technically, these are her children. Don't really matter, it's still a great photo and i have to commend you on getting that close up of a photo of animals. I wonder where these deer are from, for some reason they look a bit different from our deer. Maybe it's just the angle. Who knows. I love the framing on this photo, and the lighting is nice. I like the contrast of the bright grass in the back, and the dark grass in the front. Good job and good luck in the challenge. |

Do those count as children? Borderline for me. I like your concept, though. 7 - floyd |

This is a great idea and a very cute shot, but there is a flawâ€Â¦ As you have stated in the title, it's a protective mother and although not human, she is still their mother – therefore, the other two must be her children, and they are also in the shot; so I think it breaks the rules of the challenge. I hope that doesn't sound a too pedanticâ€Â¦ Apart from that, the picture itself is really good – love the expression on mums faceâ€Â¦ |

Composition, focus, color, all are great. Still I miss some emotion when this picture should relate to childhood. |

Wonderful catch! Unfortunately, it strecthes the challenge a bit far... I can deal with the childhood of the deer, but then you are showing the "child"... Congrads on a great shot anyway :) |

Sweet. Feels tilted, and is slightly out of focus. Would like to see their feet, or even the grass where their feet are... Kavey |

Hey, grizzly bears are a better subject for "protective" mother :-)
Either way, the photo is a bit blurred (out of focused on the deer) also the bright background is a bit distracting. |

I know this was a hard picture to take, buuuuut it's a little overexposed in the background. On the other hand, I can't believe you got them all looking at you! That's a neat trick. |

I thought we were talking about HUMAN CHILDHOOD here.... This is a sweet photo but it does not meet this challenge! |

A tad grany, but a wonderful pic. I kinda think the fawns constitute children, in a way, but I like your concept. Unfortunately, the best I can go for this photo is a 7. Swash |

rotate so the deer is upright. Rotating is allowed in editing isn't it? |

Nice image of deer. Childhood seems to be associated with humans though, isn't it? 5 Journey |
