Good texture shot. Works for pencil too but, could be better focus at the top part of the pencil.

Meets the challenge, yup. Great lighting and focus. excelent angle. something I would hang in my living room? No. But none the less very well executed. Great job and good luck in the challenge.

It was probably hard to focus on the pencil - it being so slim in comparison to the tree. Does your camera have manual focus? Anyway... that's my only nit pick on this photo. Lines are good. Meaning is well taken. Good detail in the bark. Colors and lighting are all good.
