The organization that runs Washington, DC's bus and subway system is the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority. The subway is better known simply as "the Metro."

This is the Federal Triangle Metro station in Washington, DC. The last time I entered a shot of the Metro, I got my first 6+ score and it was my personal best for 6 weeks. Now it's 7 months later and I know a lot more about photography and processing, but I'm still clueless about what voters want.

Metro requires you to get a permit to use a tripod, so I held the camera against the railing of the entrance platform.

I figured this was probably yours. :-) Interesting point about requiring a tripod, though in their defense, I suspect it's a safety thing more than anything. Tripods can be tripping hazards and in a place like a metro, you'd rather not have folks falling into each other. Your shots from DC make me kinda sad I wasn't "into" photography when I lived in northern Virginia.

This is such a cool photo. I love that abstract design! I just looked at it thru glad2's eyes, and man. . that would make an AWESOME board room, wouldn't it?

OMG! It's a fargin train station!

It looked like a conference table in a very cool room (high-tech security type place). Unbelievable the tricks the mind can play sometimes - and I don't drink. :D

Very interesting shot Jeffrey. The different colors really make this. Very well executed.

Beautiful image. I love the fantastic detail in the walls and floor. The lighting seems perfect and quite even; did you use HDR to achieve this? Very nice.

This is cool. I have no idea what the acronym is but the photo is interesting to look at. The detail in the ceiling is great, crisp and well focused. Are those PC monitors on a conference table in some secure room/facility? Looks high-tech whatever it is. Good luck in the challenge.

Okay, I used to live in DC, and I recognize the metro. Washington Metro Authority...TA? Train Action? Tunnel Atmosphere? Twin Acronymns? Ah ha! Transportation Association? Am I close? I like the light in this. And I have a pretty good idea who the photog is, we'll see if I'm right... :-)

Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, aka Metro. And it looks just like that, except there are no people on the platform so this can't have been rush hour. Good thing you didn't try photographing one of their buses, since they've been running over people lately!
