 I shot this with my back laying on an old trunk with a black blanket on it and my sb-600 clamped to the ceiling in my garage. I fired it off in commander mode with my D200 and used a homemade reflector made out of aluminum foil for fill light on my back. I started about 90 min before rollover and had given up and had a smoke. With my last puff I laid back down and took this shot. Then I rotated 90 degrees and did some sharpening and dodging and burning, converted to b&w. I submitted, took it out then re-entered it with a minute or so to go, added a quick title and tried to look at it and it was already in voting. I am lucky I got a title at all, lol. Afterwards I went through my other shots and really like this one much better, without the reflector. Although I added a bunch of black to the top border so I couldn't have enterd this crop but the light I like much more.

Great idea. I really like the lighting. I'd really like to see an explination on how this was captured. Other than that, I cannot think of any suggestions to improve my already high score. Good luck.

That cold huh!
This is one of my favourites,
I love the lighting and composition. The different perspective makes it even more interesting. Added to that the breath is just the icing on the cake.

this is a very interesting point of view, can't wait to read how you did this. I assume you used smoke or a smoke-machine (what's that called?) for the exhale?

Surely a stunning composition. Maybe you could have avoided the smoke as that makes it very evident that the image is rotated. Therwise it gives an impression of a man suspended in air. A striking image nonetheless
