i really like this shot a lot, and never ended up commenting on it during the challenge. I'm not sure exactly what it is i love either, which makes it all the better in my book. Congrats! |

"Bear" Naked is a great entry into the Nude IV challenge. I think you did an excellent job of keeping the image tasteful and fun.
Overall the image is very pleasing, I think black and white was an excellent choice. The coloring (or lack of color) allows the image to stay simple and clean, nothing too distracting. The composition is very nice. I really like that you included the banister, instead of just having your model floating out in space. I wonder if based on leaving the banister in you were using natural light from a door way. The reason I mention the lighting is it is a bit strong and caused a little bit of a blow out on the bears face. I think overall this probably changed the score, for my self personally it only changed the score by a point. I am sure others would have voted higher based on a softer lighting.
I think this was a wonderful entry and hopefully your model would agree and let you continue to enter the challenges because you defiantly have a creative eye. Also I just have to say for your first nude this is an excellent job! I think being able to photograph nudes is one of the hardest challenges.

Blown highlights on the bear and hair detracts from a nice image. |

Great photo! I like the composition you have used. The cropping is spot on and your exposure is also perfect. Good B&W conversion. If I was to be nit picky, I would only say that the black cloth on the floor distracts a little due to the wrinkles. My monitor is a little bright & they can easily be seen. |

I really like the light here and your editing works nicely. The only thing I am not too keen on is the material strewn over the stairs. The image has a relaxed feel to it but with the material on the stairs it takes to to too setup....just my opinion! Still a great shot! :o) |

technical a great image, but I think the fabric the model is sitting on could've been absolutely black, or no fabric.
great lighting and the compo works with the side of the stairs on the left. |

Great lighting. A very interesting pose. I think the banister rail is a bit distracting. I also think her feet appear a bit too uncomfortable, however the shape the pointed feet add to the legs does add to some great definition, so I wouldn't worry too much about that. I think that if the model was looking at the camera, it might have added to your score as well. |

I always like playful nudes. composition on this one is very nice. Lighting is great. Pose is cool. My only gripe: personally, I would add a breast showing somewhere, may it be partial or complete. To me, as it is, this shot tells me the model does not want to show anything, and it detracts me from the shot. I understand the pose is about a shy girl hiding behind a teddy and I don't argue against this because this is exactly what makes this shot good. But I think it would add an extra level if a breast was showing "without the subject knowing" even though she is hiding... Dunno if you understand what I mean? It would make the subject more vulnerable, and I think would add to the shot. My two cents on an excellent shot. Solid 7 |

Very nice. I like the pose, subject matter, composition, etc. I would say just a touch heavy on the NeatImage and I'm not a fan of the wrinkled up background the model is sitting on. She's on the stairs... let's see them. |

Its a very nice composition. In fact it provides multiple eye holding points. Kinda tempting to look for more elements and explore the picture. I like the skintines, great lighting and that little brightness on the bear's face. The conrasts are striking. 9 |
