I love this park the trees are big and beautiful lots of new ones also and even though it may not be a holy place it sure makes me feel a higher presence is out there with such a beautiful sight how can there not be? I love all the greens and the peacefullness the trees bring
We often sit at the little table in the background and eat lunch and feel very uplifted.

Greetings from the Critique Club!

This image has a wonderful array of different textures, from the bright green leaves on the trees to the mottled shadows on the ground. The warm light in the midground is inviting, and a nice contrast with the shadowy foreground. The soft focus gives an impressionistic effect. I can see why you consider this park sacred.

The interested viewer has much to explore in this image. But there is little to invite an indifferent viewer to become interested. Especially when said viewer has a hundred other photos to vote on. I think this explains at least part of the so-so final score. I personally like it very much, especially after having taken the time to become acquainted with it.

You have green trees! I"m JEALOUS!!!! :) Just kidding, must be wonderful to see sunshine and green leaves in November! :) I like the idea behind this shot, almost like a hiding place in the trees, looking out on the rest of the world but the contrast between the two is just a bit much, the trees on the outside are almost too bright! I started at a 7 but am moving this to an 8

This image is fun because it's like I'm in a dirty, dark place and can see the sacred space beyond.

Nice scene, but somehow lacking a subject or point

a little too much black in the foreground for my tastes, i might have cropped a little higher were it mine :) nice rich colours, and i love the presence of the big tree up front. -Pedro

The silouetted branches lead the eye out to the young bright green sunlit trees. The dapples of light under the big tree give a nice foreground. The branches overhead are like the roof of a sanctuary, the green trees like the stained glass. Perhaps a bit bright on the background trees? 8

While I agree that being in a park or woods can be very uplifting and definitely a sanctuary for many this photo just doesn't have that punch to make it very interesting. The trees are over-exposed and seem to be blurry and the foreground is dark and doesn't really add to the photo. I understand that you were trying to create a mood and it might have looked different in person. Of course this is just my opinion which probably accounts for nothing.

Humm, looks like a cool spot on a sunny day. Nice feeling and nice shot. All the leaves....you must not be having Fall in your area.

The framing tree is a nice touch, but the total lack of detail in it, and the way it extends across the other trees loses something. Perhaps taking the photo from a lower position, pointing up, and a tighter crop at the left would improve it.
