A friend of mine at work wanted to take some pictures of himself "dead" face down in a bowl of candy for a prank he's playing on a friend.
After we took this one and some others, I found out this week was the table top challenge. Finally, DPC timing works in my favor!
I have another one I like more, but it was with me standing on the table shooting down at him, and I figured I'd get whacked for not meeting the challenge. Besides, this one has the nice reflection in the table.
This is actually a good example of what I've learned from DPC. Without thinking too much about it, I managed to frame it well, not have distractions in the background, get the white balance right, and get him in focus. Oh, and the lighting was mainly a big window to the left of the frame plus the overhead fluorescents.
Editing was some tinkering with curves and selective color to increase the contrast and reducing the red saturation to make his face look better. A little sharpening and a little cropping completed the edit.The dark upper corners were a happy accident. Not sure why the camera did that, though. |
