Wow - You did get a lot of comments and that is great. First impressions are - Smooth as silk. Those snow drifts look like custard. Really pleasing to the eye. The exposure seems to be spot on with detail held in all the highlights which to say the least must have been tricky. The composition is very pleasing with the mountain in a great spot. As far as making this picture any better I would say there is very little to do. Personally I would have loved to have seen a true black in the very darkest points of the picture and maybe just held back a tad on the burning in of the sky - But these really are minor suggestions - Cracking picture and one to be proud of. Well done. |

Keep up the good work on the geology studies. I think it is worth it for the remote views alone. Just watch out for those head shrinking natives if, one day, you get sent to the remote regions of Papua New Guinea. ;-) I spent a while at university studying geology and working underground for tin mines in the SW of England a while back when they were open. I switched career but have some regrets. I was born in Australia and like Canada there's a lot of ore out there.... it's in my blood. And geology is a good profession. Hydrogeology is not as romantic as hard rock mining, but it is a very important item for the future and a good money earner, IMO. |

Lovely terrain and your black and white treatment is appropriate. The low angle light really enhances the valley. Nice work indeed. 9. |

Simple and lovely. Mostly highlights and mid tones - a natural high key. 7 |

That looks so surreal! Size perspective gets lost because of the monolith in the mountain - simply stunning. |

Though I like the image and the exposure is well done, the black band across the top is a little weird. |

Oh how I would love to know the story of how you got this photo! It's breathtaking! Is it a lower elevation than it looks? If not, did you hike way up there? If you did, that would be such an interesting trip report!
Anyway. . .this is such a dramatic stunning photo! Congratulations on however you got it!! :) |
