Thank you everyone for your wonderful comments! I too wish the pole had not been there. Had I been more addicted to DPChallenge last week, as I seem to be this week, I may have uprooted the tomato cage for a better shot. Thanks again! It feels great to come in 7th on my 2nd submission!

In my eyes it would have been the bet photo of this weeks green tomatoes, if there was not this distracting pole in the background.
I still like the photo because of the water drops, the good lighting and the good DOF.

I really like this image. The water on the tomatoes is wonderful along with the prickly stuff on the stems. Great job.

The reflection in the waterdrop is very clear.

Fantastic!

great shot :) I love the fine detail on this one... the only minor distraction that I catch here is the pole/wire in the background behind the main subject... = 9 - jmsetzler

Great job, my second favorite this week! I can feel the warmth of the morning sun on my face as I walk through the garden.

Love the droplets on the tomato in the foreground, but would like to see more clarity on the two tomatoes right behind, although I realize that can be hard to achieve. I find the fuzziness of the background kind of distracting so I might have cropped this a bit more... again, I don't know how much you had to work with, and have often had to settle for something less than I thought perfect because I simply didn't have enough to work with in the original.

This is a really great shot, it really captures the newnessâ€Â¦

I love the focus on the front tomato. Great detail with that fuzzy stem. The water is a cool effect, but may be a little distracting from the tomato. I look at it and automatically look down to the water, only to see the distorted image of the pole in the background. My eyes then follow the actual pole in the background right off the picture, and then I'm not looking at the "something new" anymore. The pole definately bothers me, but you have still captured a really great photo here. And there is definately newness. Maybe try that "rule of thirds" everyone is talking about. Not sure how it works, but heard that it's visually appealing. Great job and good luck with the challenge.

This is pretty well done. I like the water droplets hanging off the tomatoes and throwing the background out of focus helps to emphasize the nicely rounded, wet tomato up front. It's difficult to get a good photo when so much of the frame has roughly the same tones and this is a good job.

i think I would have prefered if the tomatoes were turning red, just alittle too much green. tomlewis1980

what a nice picture.

I guess I can't say anything negative about the choice of subject since I submitted one of the "competing" tomato shots :) I love the way the water is built up on these -- nice DOF and very nicely captured!

nice lighting, nice picture

Oooooooooh this is nice. Wish the stick wasn't in it though... But LOVE the sun and hair and water and sheen of the skins and background and all.
8, Kavey (would have been 9 or 10 but for the rod in the shot).

Good picture colors and composition.

Well, this is just a very, very perfect photo in my opinion, albeit a bit cliche. The way it has been photographed absolutely expresses "NEW" from the drops of water to the tiny, new hairs. Excellent DOF. Excellent photo! I'm giving this a ten!

I really like the drops coming off the un-ripened tomatos.

Wonderful photo !

Very nice. The water droplets really make the shot. lhall
