This is Sami, our 7 year old Tibetan Terrier. I actually thought I would be using our other dog for this challenge as he is usually much more relaxed than Sami, but he would have none of it. Sami was surprisingly calm throughout. In fact she fell asleep about three shots after this one.

Thanks to everyone for your comments. There were some really great shots in this challenge and I am thrilled to be on the front page.

Absolutely delightful - and an extra bonus for getting a Terrier to sit still and wear glasses :- )

8 - Nice. Like to have seen the catchlight in both eyes and the rear not cropped so tight.

My favorite photo. Captures the spirit of the dog, makes me chuckle, and is very unique. Wonderful picture. Not much I would change. I think there might be a hair on the lens or sensor between the eyes, but that really doesn't take away from the photo. A rare 10 from me.

Love the creativeness in this composed portrait. Very clever! After a hard day at the office this dog is ready to curl up with a good book:-) Love the addition of the glasses for it really helps strengthen the idea of this poochie opening up a book to read it. Without the glasses the connection would not be as strong. Lighting and composition are good. Only one little critique and that is that I wish the right eye was as visible at the left eye. You caught a bit of catchlight/reflection in the left eye and had it also been in the right eye it would make it more visible/noticible. Not to mention it would FURTHER add visual interest/appeal to the image of a very smart dog who reads by showing the "sparks of intellience" in both eyes.

Thats a very good dog to let you do all that and stay long enough for you to get the shot (several times I'm guessing?). Originally I gave it a 7 but, I'm bumping to 9
