Brilliant colors and a wonderful subject for your shot. I can't decide if the changing sky adds or detracts from the composition, so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt! Do you have any outtakes from this shoot? 8.
08/11/2002 10:34:00 AM
this is a really pretty shot. the colors are really great. the best part, I think, is the sky, so it would be nice if you backed up and shot the picture in vertical format, placing the tractor at the bottom of the frame so you could see more sky. I really like the shot as it is, though.
08/10/2002 10:04:00 PM
Nice shot. 10 Spiller
08/10/2002 05:22:00 PM
Great angle on this! I love the dark sky in the upper left hand corner and the contrasting bright yellow flowers in bottom right. Great job!
08/10/2002 12:50:00 PM
What a great shot. This old Fordson should be restored. Is it for sale? I will use this as wallpaper some too.
08/10/2002 12:30:00 PM
The light on the upper right I find distracting. Overall, however, nice composition.
08/10/2002 11:24:00 AM
Love this shot, BUT that exhaust pipe is bothering me, because my eye is immediately attracted/distracted by it, and leads my eye to the edge of the photo instead of the very interesting front grill of the old tractor. And I like the delicateness of the dandelions against the rusty junk metal. Good work.
08/10/2002 09:37:00 AM
Nice angle and uncluttered background makes this shot effective. Color works well.
08/10/2002 09:26:00 AM
Lovely contrast between red rust and green and yellow below.
08/10/2002 05:40:00 AM
Good color in this picture. The dark clouds in the background work well for the theme.
08/09/2002 03:09:00 PM
Nice angle. Great looking sky for a backdrop.
08/09/2002 03:58:00 AM
Zoomed in a bit too far, cropping the front wheel and the exhaust pipe. Nice low angle to remove background clutter, Maybe the nearest wheel could be a bit sharper.
08/08/2002 11:04:00 PM
great colors. one of my top 3s for the week.
08/08/2002 11:35:00 AM
Great low-down angle and excellent colour and contrast.
08/08/2002 05:51:00 AM
Good angle. might want to not cut off stack.
08/07/2002 05:16:00 PM
lol ... it's amazing how much influence your managers have on you. i had one that was always harping on about the difference between its and it's ... you used the wrong one. anyway. i like your picture. the angle and composition is great, even though i don't like the cut off pipe at the top, but i think this is probably still the best angle. the sky is nice and the dandylions add a nice touch. -- gr8photos (7)
08/07/2002 01:49:00 PM
Great shot. I love the contrast in colors.
08/07/2002 12:06:00 PM
excellent photo... question... is there a wooded area on the left side of this tractor? If so, it may have been better to photograph it from the other side to provide a better background... This photo works really well as is though.. i love the dandilions in front of the tractor :) = 8 - jmsetzler
08/07/2002 10:17:00 AM
Personally, exactly what I was looking for. Only improvement might have been in being able to see the top of the stack on the tractor. Excellent
08/07/2002 07:40:00 AM
Great Photo ! The dark sky on the left side seems to add to the drama of this picture.
08/07/2002 01:59:00 AM
Love this picture. Nice angle and colors. (9)
08/06/2002 08:54:00 PM
this is a great photo. the only things i would change would be to try and eliminate the fence in the background (looks like a white wooden and also a chain link, and is that an auto?) and to include the whole exhaust pipe. the darkening sky adds lots of mood to this shot. ~mcmurma

good angle shot..the sky is great and the grass makes a good balance
08/06/2002 08:06:00 PM
This is my favorite photo for this challenge. I love the color. My only comment would be that the sky on the right side is just a little too light. But I think its because of the white background. With a matting & frame, Perfect. - 10
08/06/2002 07:34:00 PM
Very nice picture.
08/06/2002 03:48:00 PM
the split in the atmosphere and what's above the bottom of the radiator makes this a fine photo!
08/06/2002 02:05:00 PM
Cool sky!
08/06/2002 01:06:00 PM
Very nice! I like the full range of colors in this shot (what no reds?) I especially like the dark cloud looming, nice touch! The angle of the shot is very interesting and almost perfectly framed (cut off part of the front tire and the top of the exhaust). Plus I wish I could see the tool attached to the back of the tractor, but I am thinking that might have introduced other issues/problems. 9 Swash
08/06/2002 10:09:00 AM
Wow I love this one it looks really great. I wish I would have done mine in color too.
08/06/2002 09:30:00 AM
I really like this photo. It has a nice nature v. technology thing going on with the tall, green grasses and dandelions along with the sky which forecasts an impending storm approaching from the left of the frame all situated around the rusted old tractor filling most of the frame. There's tension and an anticipation of the coming weather which, in the past, has helped give the tractor it's old look so it's more than just a "product shot" of an old tractor. Great timing and great eye. The only thing I would note is the pavement, fence and car on the far right which serves as the only point of distraction.
08/06/2002 03:14:00 AM
Wonderful colours and composition.
08/06/2002 02:26:00 AM
I love this picture, can't be specific as to why, just do. Only negative (and it's really being picky) - I feel there's too much difference in the sky between the left and right sides. Are those storm clouds? maybe having waited a few minutes until the whole sky was a unifrom shade - all clouds would have added even more impact to the shot. - lamedos
08/05/2002 10:43:00 PM
Beautiful. I love the colours (it's nice because so many photos are black and white or sepia in this challenge). The framing/composition is very striking. I just hope apostrophe man doesn't get you for your typo in the title :P
08/05/2002 04:18:00 PM
i really like this. the angle and the sky are great. nice work
08/05/2002 03:00:00 PM
Something old. Use your photographic technique to emphasize the age of your subject.
Composition - quite good
Technical Aspects - very good
Meets Challenge - yes
Visual Impact / Originality - quite good. Perhaps its the yellow flowers and dark clouds that offset and make this jump out.
08/05/2002 02:48:00 PM
Great picture - only quibble is the slightly over exposed sky - (8)
08/05/2002 02:46:00 PM
I gave 4 10s this week, this is one of them. Despite that the parking lot on the right is visible, I love this. I like how the sky is dark on one side. The angle is great as well as the clarity. Great Job.

08/05/2002 12:57:00 PM
Nice timing, the overcast sky really adds to this, great job!
08/05/2002 12:06:00 PM
A very similar picture is one of my outtakes!
08/05/2002 10:52:00 AM
-1 for improper use of the possessive apostrophe in your title! 8)
08/05/2002 09:12:00 AM
very nice! looks like a storm is coming....good shot 8
08/05/2002 08:31:00 AM
This is a great photo, I love all the colors. Could you try a different position without the driveway and car? that can be seen through the wheel? It would seem more abandoned then.. 7 lecalan
08/05/2002 07:55:00 AM
Stunning colour!
08/05/2002 07:50:00 AM
one word "Excellent"
08/05/2002 07:03:00 AM
This is great--it belongs on a wall in a nice frame!
08/05/2002 06:19:00 AM
I think this one desearves "best color" picture.
08/05/2002 01:44:00 AM
good shot
08/04/2002 09:34:00 PM
unlike the other "old vehicals" that have been rusted out (Im sure you know what I mean) THIS Is a great example of how framing and perspective (not to mention weather) can have a huge impact on the photo... great job 9
