This is about 20,000 volts going across a 1 inch space. As I took the photo, I could feel my hair going up on end, and then I felt a sudden ZZZZAP! on my hand that made me leap a little. But as there were no amps present, it only startled me and didn't kill me!

Nice one David - great capture. Well composed, very satisfying colours with lots of interest and action. The slight noise in the shot may just have cost you a ribbon!

Okay whoops, 60,000 volts makes it even more scarier!

My mistake, I asked my physicist father-in-law how many volts this was and he said, 'One inch? That's about 60,000 volts.' So my title is correct; the description is not. I corrected the title without correcting the description. Thanks for your votes; I'm surprised it did so well. There were many shots in this challenge I thought would whollup this one. Including YOURS probably!

Congratulations! This one was the first that caught my eye. I still think it deserved a better score. Anyway, you was so close to add a new ribbon to your collection... Not that you don't have enough. :)

Fantastic capture. I really like the colors and patterns this forms. I don't quite understand all this electric physics stuff, but it sure is purdy!

Great picture. I would like to see the object on the right side with more sharpness. 8.

Would be better if it was a little less grainy, aside from that, a great shot. 8

Both dramatic and beutiful colors, as well as true sciense in the image! A 10!
