I was in a hurry when i submitted and i didnt have much time...so anyway i got this little girl for the shot.. the reason for it not being very crisp si because it was late and getting dark
basically i ran out of good light but shot it anyway. but thanks everyone for the great comments. hopefully i will get a blue soon.

Hello from the Critique Club,

This image is definite proof that hitting a home run with the challenge topic can overcome technical flaws in the image. My firsts impression was that the image evokes a lot of emotion and has a nice feel of times gone by but the focus is not as sharp as it could be and the image appears a bit dark. However, I do believe that the focus issue can be minimized with some additional sharpening and the darkness issue is a matter or personal preference, so I never down score for that (unless it is so bad I can't see hardly any details).

You came up with an exceptional idea that could have been in the top ten easily with a little better execution. Nice job and nice image.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions regarding this critique.

Tim

Very nice shot. I love the "old" feel to this shot. Great Image.

I like the concept of this photo, but I would have liked to see a bit more of the rails.

Wow, its an emotional shot. I would have probably not cropped off the right-hand rail, and left the girl more on the left side of the shot instead, but I suppose it would have been a different shot then, with a different feeling.

So cute - the focus is maybe not spot on, but I like it :o) Good luck

Lacking that depth of field focus. Not the Bokeh, I like that, but the focus at the upper part of her body. I really like the composition, and I like the tones, mood, and the unique idea, hopefully it fairs well because I like it alot, but I could almost guarantee you would of earned a top 10 spot if the focus was just a smidgin more clear. GL.

Good shot. One of the best in the contest. Getting a kid to cooperate for these kinds of shots can be soooooo hard. I know!

Really nice shot, the slight softness/blur gives a nice quality.

This photo brings back memories for me... I used to spend a week each summer with my grandfather in South Carolina. One of the highlights of my week was walking along the railroad tracks that ran behind his home. Very nice work :)

Aw, give me a break. This may be cute, but sure is tacky. Definitely not a believable set up.

Nice idea indeed. A little on the dark side - even though I like the dark side of this image. 7.
