Very nice, uncluttered image. Meets the challenge obviously, and good choice for b & w.

I like the lighting on this. Also, good subject matter and I like the play on words. Great job! - 9

Great subject. On-center photo makes the off-axis shadows distracting.

Simple, though perhaps obvious in terms of subject, but really nicely shot and works well with the limited range of greys.

Lovely B&W and great subject. But taken very front-on. Would have been more interesting at a 45 degree angle.

very nice shot! I love this one... the only minor distraction is the cord.. i'm not sure if that could have been rolled up and hidden behind the fan or not... it's not a problem, but the photo would be cleaner without it... good shot :) - jmsetzler

Very cool fan. My grandmother used to have one, and I think my mother has it now. I like the use of black & white. This is one of the few "setup" shots of an object that I actually liike.

You know, I love this shot, its perfect in every way. But the white background against the white background of the browser window makes this look too bland. (It's not your photo). this has bothered me on several photos in this challenge. Not much we can fix about that, until we get it to the frame store. - 9

black & white ruins this picture

this would have been more effective in a setting and not up against a backdrop

nice pic though

Good shot. I think a different angle, other than just straight on, would make it more interesting. Bet those blades could hurt a finger! karmat

Can you imagine them selling something like this nowadays? Think of the lawsuits from idiots that would get their arms chopped off...

Great - except the cable... Sorry, that just sounds picky, but I think it spoils it quite a bit.

Needs some better background.

OUCH! MY FINGER!!

I had a picture of a fan almost exactly like this that I was going to submit. I guess I'm glad I didn't. Nice shot. Maybe I'll get some outtakes put together...

The hard part about using a white background is getting rid of the shadows. You have to put in a lot of time going back and forth between light/dark and contrast to eliminate them.
