Beautiful work Ruedi! Having grown near the Schwartzsee and skied there in winter I can relate. You captured the true colors of the lake and the feeling of the place!

Ruedi, this is truly stunning. I was interested to see that you spent 30 years in Cape Town as I am African born (Zimbabwe) and I have ALWAYS wanted to visit Switzerland, I have flown over the Alps a few times but that is as close as I have come.

What can I say, after 3 years and 184 entries I eventually got my first ribbon. If that is not perseverance.
With no doubts, this was my most exiting DPC week and I can not tell you how many times I checked the score.
Even my wife kept phoning me to the office, when the score started to climb.
First check Monday morning the score was just over 7, what excitement, but then I dropped quickly to 6.6, and I thought: here we go again. However from then onwards, it was a slow but steady up to the finishing score.
Some comments to the photo. I actually intended to take a misty autumn scene , but as so often, there was no mist. Until eventually I spotted the reflection on the Schwarzsee here near Fribourg in Switzerland.
Technically it was not a very difficult photo to take. The important part was to spot the moment.
I first entered an other photo, but in the very last moment I changed it to this entry. This was pure luck.
Shooting in RAW and almost all the time I am using a tripod.
I would like to thank all the good people for their super comments. I enjoyed every single one.
I hope I can keep the momentum going and look forwards to the next challenges.

This is an exquisite capture!
Composition is excellent, as it is very easy for your eyes to scan the image from foreground to background, and even in different 'roadmaps'.
There are many nice finds, although I wish that the photo could be enlarged to see more detail.
I can only imagine that the original must be very Beautiful.
A 20'x30' appx would be awesome, matted in the darkest green visible, and a small black frame that just covers the edge of the mat.

| Very lovely, clear image. You're right! the best reflections are always in the morning for some reason. Your horizon line is almost in the middle; you might try putting it directly in the center or moving it to a third to see what'll happen. Super work! 9 |

that's some crazy-still water. the muted tones are very nice. I might have cropped it a little higher so the reflection was dominated by the land, but that's just me. I'm a little jealous that i wasn't there.

| WOW... This is almost surreal. Feels like a tapestry, to look at. I'm not quite sure absolute symmetry was best for this one, though. It's lovely, but my eye is crying to see more on the top and less on the bottom , by a little bit... Regardless, quite lovely. |
