 Everybody needs a lone tree on the prarie shot in their portfolio. I've been after this for a long time.

I'm a fan of the minimalist approach and IMO you pulled it off quite well. The cloud shadows may be a touch too dark for my taste but small detail.

I've long been an advocate for landscape shots out on the Plains, but most of my landscape photographer friends just give me a giggle...this is really remarkable in its simplicity...well done

Hey, this looks like where I live (middle of western Kansas, on the high plains) :) Your photo would have worked well for A Single Tree challenge, too! I do like the wide-open spaces you are showing here. This could be improved by deepening the color of blue in the sky, and burning some of the foreground to make the grasses more dramatic. Now I am inspired to try a photo like this one. Thanks!!

wish the angle was lower to emphasize the tree, a 4 seems reasonable
