 A follow-up to my speed challenge entry, Spin. The gyroscope at rest.

Not much to tell: used a foam rubber background, placed in a translucent plastic tub. I switched between a 250w halogen light and a 60w incandescent shined from different angles. I think this was the incandescent, shining from the right, diffused through the plastic. Camera was in macro mode, with no lens or filter attachments.

In Photoshop, adjusted the levels, used selective color to boost various colors, sharpened/resized/sharpened.

i would have liked the picture better if you hadn't cropped the string. The gyroscope at rest concept is a novel one. I like it...

how do you keep the blue so clean...there is some grain/pixils but not much?

Interesting shot. Like the blue background: it sets off the steel of the gyroscope nicely. String tip near the gyroscope edge seems to be out of focus and I can't quite figure out why. Nice framing too
