Hanging out in Malibu with Carmen Electra sounds like even more fun. I'll have to try that next time I get lost. ;)
The image composition is generally good and showing the ocean perspective from the appreciative gaze of the couple works well. Like the backlighting as well.
The ocean waves immediately in front of the couple is slightly overexposed and the horizon is not quite level. The sky color looks different to me, but maybe it is time for me to recalibrate my monitor.
It should not be surprising to know that I dreamed about the ocean and other bodies of water (and other bodies for that matter) while stranded in the blazing desert sun. You captured my thinking well. - Steve |

| LOL! I was wondering if someone was going to tie Carmen Sandiego in somehow... How could you NOT with a challenge title like that? :) First off, well done on finding someone whom actually looks like he could be Steve. The composition is very nice, but it's too bad that you couldn't capture just the couple and no other people. The DOF is nice and I like the fact that they are staring out at the horizon. The lighting seems a bit harsh (common for most mid-day shots) - I think it may have had more visual appeal if this was shot closer to sunrise or sunset. The harsh light tends to "wash out" the colors a bit. Possibly some Levels and Saturation adjustments could have helped it "pop" a bit more. However, I love the creativity of the idea and that you were able to capture a nice image in such harsh lighting conditions. |
