A very nice tribute to "Sonoran Spring", even the clouds look right. Appears like it was shot with a polarizer filter like the original. Nicely done B&W with excellent tonality, especially in the clouds and sky. Beautifully captured.
Oddly enough, this scene is reasonably close to what it looked like where I was actually lost. Cactus were not quite as nice where I was at, though, but the low hills were similar. "Sonoran Spring" was shot on the opposite side of the Superstition Mountains from where I got lost.
During my trek I saw towering thunderhead clouds that made for absolutely spectacular sunsets. Sunrises were beautiful to, but alas... So sad... no pictures. :( - Steve

good black and white conversion. Gets a little muddy in the background/mountains but over all a great tonal range. The top 5th of the sky could be cropped with no loss - maybe even a strengthening - of the image.

This is really nice. The tones are wonderful. I am reducing my score by a point because of the slightly out of focus cactus on the left that keeps stealing my concentration, but otherwise, this is pretty near perfect. I like the b&w very much.

nice tribute to steves photo - your lighting isn't as interesting as the original though. but the hills in the background are an improvement.

A great tribute, indeed! :) Good use of B & W and nice contrast.
