 At first, I thought this was a basic challenge, and almost didn't enter because of all the sensor dust. When I discovered that it's advanced editing, I cloned out a bunch of sensor dust, dodged and burned, adjusted colors in Channel Mixer, Hue & Saturation, and selective color. Curves, levels, Neat Image, and just about everything else were also involved. Hope I didn't go overboard, but I kind of liked the colors in the result.

Beautifully done. The upper left to lower right color/content diagonal line with bridge and boat makes this an interesting composition giving the viewer much to look at and think about. The color processing is well done, particularly the blue of the bridge and water and the yellow glow at the bow of the boad. There is just a touch of haloing on the horizon but not enough to be a distraction. A couple of the clouds are a bit overexposed but again not bad.
I tell ya, I sure would rather have been kayaking that sweaing in the desert when I was lost! :) Perhaps I will get the chance soon. - Steve

Nice photo but spoiled by the processing imo. The blue strips of water look out of place and kinda patchy and artifacty.

Amazing colors. :D The contrast between the blue tones near the kayaker and the warm tones in the sky and foreground is great. The golden glow on the boat is especially nice. :)
