The different shades of the clouds make them look fluffier. With the silhouette of the land given such a dark color your eyes first focus on it. Then the clouds with its beautiful color pushes the land out. The bird is a bit small to really notice at first.
A closer cropping of the bird , the land and the clouds would've given the picture a nicer composition. |

| Clean, beautiful colors, fits the challenge nicely in that it promotes the best freedom of all, flying. I only wish humans were free to do that. Oh, well, I'll work with what I have. |

| Another evocative alternative to the patriotic and heartfelt 911-related images. This reminds me very much of Jonathan Livingstone Seagull by Richard Bach. |

| This is my favourite shot here. The spirit of freedom is well represented and allows us to project our own thoughts on freedom without a literal reference. Good lighting and composition. |
