 Had no intentions of entering this challenge, but while looking through the cupboards on the last day, I came across some onions that were sprouting and needed to be thrown out. Thought they looked neat, but after taking a number of shots, didn't feel I was getting anything abstract enough. Thought about the layers of the onion and decided to see what I could do if I was to peel back the onion. This is what I came up with. It's not that great and I'm not sure if people will consider it abstract, but I'm entering it anyways.

Shot this on my black computer chair with ambient light coming through the basement window.

After uploading my shot, I realized it was an advanced editing challenge. Cloned out a few things and did some dodging/burning and resubmitted...still not used to the advanced editing yet :)

I really like the lighting on this one as well as the comp. Reflection from the flash is a bit much but all in all a nice photo.

Excellent. It's a given that flower shots score well on DPC ... well, fantastic ones anyway, and that's what you've entered, the best edible flower in the bunch. 10 Good Luck

Nice. The lighting is a bit harsh. Something softer to create a more flowered look would have been nice. But I still like this quite a bit.
