I'm sure this would have looked 100 times better with out the icky, overcast sky, but what can I do? I live in Seattle... this was sort of last minute.. I had to drop my son off at work, and had a few minutes to spare, and happened to be in downtown Bellevue. I wish I had time to go back and reshoot this evening, with beter light, and to try and get the crane reflection to fall more on the 2/3's line.

Hi Margie -

This is a neat idea, but yes, the sky is washed out. The building also appears to be leaning slightly since the center line forming the corner isn't perfectly vertical. One last nitpick is that the composition looksa bit too green, so perhaps some color balance adjustment slightly toward the magenta end of the scale would help counter that.

I see from your photographer's comments (and thanks for including those, by the way!) that you'd have preferred to have shot at a different time of day. I hate including that in my comments (but I did anyway) because I fully understand that sometimes you shoot when you can!

Like the reflection of the crane - neatly symbolises the continuing construction.

this is a nice capture of the impending construction with the tree helps. I wish the sky wasn't blown out quite so much though. The only other thing I would comment is with the title, I know it is part of a song but you have no parking lot in your photo. just my suggestions

Didn't we do this already? I like this one though.

Nice depiction of progress. It's a bit brightly exposed - might have been more effective it it could have been shot at a different time of day.

nice fresh view of a "construction" theme. i like this. a little more contrast between the building and sky would have been nice.

Wow. Great image. I love the mirror effect. Great for when you want to capture two things that are too far apart.

Like the reflection in the building, wish it would have stood out more. With the sky so pale the overall shot suffers form lack of constrast.

Some heavy fringing here of the building and branches on the tree.
Nice idea, and good angle to fit the crane into the reflection like that.
I wonder if it looks better in strong contrasted black and white tones.

I like the crane, shows 'progress' as in building.

This is great! Both the green tree and the reflected image of construction raise questions about whether the austere modern building is really progress. (10)

Fab reflection in the building. The title seems wrong as there is no parking lot in the picture

I rated this photo "2" because it is low resolution and could've been shot with a more interesting angle/perspective. Head-on building shot is pretty plain, although the crane reflection is a nice touch.

Hmmm... That building looks familiar...

I love the title by the way.
