Nicely graphic. Looking over my votes for previous challenges, I notice I've always given your entries higher than average votes including this one. You have a good eye for a pleasing composition. |

I would have liked this more if the pencil was in focus, and the holder was not, but that's just me.....good concept. |

I find it would be much nicer in b&w. |

Nice colors and shadows but for some reason I seem to want the top of the pencil to be in focus instead of near the bottom. |

Nice perspective, and an interesting DOF. I also like the light gradient you achieved behind the pencil holder.(and across the bottom of the cup) I may have tried the pencil the other way. |

Very nice use of DOF. Love the crop as well. Some might suggest for it to be tighter on the ride side but I believe it shows just enough shadow to "fill" the frame. Nice job. |

Interesting that you chose to leave the eraser end OOF. I like the effect, and the image as a whole - simple, yet elegent. |

If this had less yellow in the background from the light, it would have a huge WoW factor. Still worthy of a good score. |

This is an interesting photo. The out-of-focus eraser right in your face really has an impact. I'm not sure if I like the impact or not though. The patterns in the wire barrel and their corresponding shadows are nice. |

Interesting. I'm not sure how much I like the focus on the bottom rather than the top, but overall it's very arty. 7 |

I am sure you would disagree or you wouldn't have entered the photo in this challenge, but IMO DNMC. |

I like this image, even though the imediate forground is out of focus. There is something captivating about the shapes in this image. Composed and balanced very nicely. |

A good idea, well executed. The latticework of the basket is almost overwhelming. Good use of colour, too; with the splash of red at the end of the pencil. |

I would have like the end of the pencil a little to the right, as it is in your face, and a little to distracting for me..... |
