For lighting I used a flashlight and used the CD disk in the background to add more light and color. Subject is made up of an egg inside a pink swirled wine glass and a regular CD disk. Dodged, burned, increased contrast, reduced noise, added saturation, cloned out a finger, sharpened, adjusted exposure. Used edge preserving blur and added a star filter.

Really pretty... the colors just seem to flow together. I see that I gave it a ten during voting. :-)

I hope it wasn't because I cloned out a finger. I thought it was because I used a star filter effect in post processing, which I thought was okay because the star existed, it just wasn't very well defined.

This is a lovely abstract - had you not put in your comments (and thanks for putting in comments!) what it was, I'd have been hard pressed to guess. Composition is good; colors are excellent. There's a bit of stuff in the lower left that you might wish to clone out.

a very nice image. abstarct, but not unrecognisably so. the main probelems are the flecks of whit on the left side - very distratcting - and the noise. this is one image that doesn't benefit from noise. perhaps either a wider or shallower depth of field - so the cd is either crisp or completely out of focus. right now it looks just - not in focus, unintentionally. the star filter might be a bit distracting too - i'm not sure...

good creative thinking a nd setup. well done.

Interesting light refractions, and nice rainbow of colors.
