I totally can't believe that this finished way down at the bottom of the top 100. This was my favorite of those I got to vote on by far and one of the highest scores I've ever given out...

Hmm, I share the same thoughts as Frisca there - would have preferred to omit the lens on the right completely. You look almost like a film director, Robt! :) |

I would like this shot better if it used the full tonal range from black to white. As it is right now, the black obscures detail and detracts from the interest of the shot. Otherwise great idea and title to go with it. |

An interesting post process here Robert. Kinda reminds me of an image I tried editing to make it look like a TV ad ;) The grain is effective against the blue but the lens to the right seems overpowering and causes a slight inbalance in the image. |

Very moody composition. Grain works exceptionally very well here. If this were mine I would consider cropping the lens on the right out of the frame. In any regard this is one of the best portraits in the challenge. |

Nice post processing, but why on earth did you leave the lens in there. The composition works better without it. Good idea as far as the reflections go. |

Wonderful photo and yes in some ways it is a self-portrait. Maybe in the most obvious ways it does tell of you but I always like a little more than the obvious. :-) This is my blue ribbon winner. |

I for one appreciate the grain. I'm sure you're taking a hit for it. I'm taking a huge hit for my blur effect. This is an example of a gimmick that is so good it transforms into art. I feel like I am both standing outside of you and standing inside your camera at the same time. In fact, I also feel like I'm standing in your moccasins. |

I enjoy this shot especially with all the noise. Here is another great example of when noise is an attribute. Another note, this shot does quite well capturing its subject without looking posed. 8 |

Well done, Bear, the noise and blue duotone (or is it colorized?) of this portrait give it a deep, interesting feel...the reflection and seriousness give a look into your personality. |

One of the few I recognize. I joined this site right after the last selfportrait in time to catch your last entry. I hope a couple of the homages brought a smile to you. Interesting comp that works really well with the grain. I like the effect and the subtle duotone. The DOF is great. I like how the focus is further away. Aside from this,You're also a valuable asset to the site. Good luck. Dex |

Bear ? I'm giving this shot a 6. You have a lot of character in your face and I would've voted it higher had you presented a clean colorful image in lieu of this version. |

Saw this last night, bear. You look like Robert Altman! Love the approach you took. This is really good. Hope it does well for you. The grain and the 3 segments make for an instant tryptic. Good luck! |

Yes I think so.
This photo is a little to dark. Maybe some levels could pop it up. The idea is very good. It's possible to get fantastic results with just two mirrors. |

Ernest Hemingway, you salty dog! Quite a departure for you, Hem, and I rather like it. If you'll permit the pun, there's a lot more to this than meets the eye, and it's quite fun unwinding it. It's a sort of coded self-portrait. |
