I think, Julia, that you and your work capture and embody the passion, sensuality and eroticism of New Orleans to a "T." |

this is great. I agree about the background...some velvet would give it that depth and rear texture...but great shot anyway

Just stumbled into this photo. Absolutely sensational!!!!! I particularly like the pose the girl is in, kneeling and with her head turned the way it is.
Beautiful shot, 10/10 in my books! |

I absolutely loved this photograph during voting. I gave a 9 because I couldn't see exactly how it related to the challenge. A great shot! Congratulations. Fantastic textures and use of light. |

Check the "remnant table" at the fabric or craft store. They will often have the last yard or two at around 1/2 price. Velvet can be pretty expensive sometimes. |

My only tiny "complaint" is that the lightening shows up the creases in the background cloth. A piece of velvet (or maybe crushed velvet if you want more texture) would be expensive, but just maybe worth it if you wanted to re-create this shot for print
Suberb idea! I will be looking around for this cloth immediately...thanks!

That's exactly the way it looked to me -- excellently done.

I purposely lightened the background to create a sense of texture and that of an old painting. It also brought out more detail in the various shadows. My monitor is darker than most I suppose. I tried to reach a happy medium..knowing others are going to see this lighter than some. If I could print the image...then everyone could know exactly how this was meant to look. The background is black...and seemed a bit too cliche to leave simply black...i was playing with light and playing in general. I never expected this image to do as well as it did. I was figuring in the low 5's at best. BUT...I really liked the image...so submitted it anyway :) |

Loved that picture and guessed it was you (without being able to put a name on it). Nice 'oldish' tones and I usually do not like backgrounds that shows if they are black, white or purple) but this one does serve the mood and gives to me the sensation of not a 'portrait in the present' but a 'reproductio nof a model posing for a photographer long time ago'. Do not know if it is was was neant .. but I like it. Very good job. Lionel |

Great idea, not so great background.
I wonder how it would have performed with a background increasing the contrast both in texture (having no texture at all) and color (being completel black for instance).

Very beautiful setup. Was the green cast intentional? Green is usually not associated well with body shots. It almost look as if it were shot through a thin green silk screen. Lovely composition. |

Excellant, excellant nude. The shroud, color, shadow and the pose are spectacular. The background that creates negative space doesn't work quite as well. |

Hmmm.... I like it. But with a backdrop, you want to make sure it's always ironed. Plus, I would have made the backdrop black. In terms of negative space, the wrinkled backdrop really ruins alot of that. But this photo is nice. It's almost like a painting.... |

What a beautiful piece of art. I can just see this in a beautiful frame hanging on a wall in a room with high ceilings. This has everything it takes to make perfect photography. BEST of luck this week ! 10 |

Beautifully artistic. The lighting is perfect and the shroud adds a wonderful softness to her form. This is a terrific example of not only negative space but of nude photography. |

This is fantastic. Great composition. The only thing I could suggest is that you keep the light off the back wall to make it all black, but that doesn't really matter here. 9 |

Nice, Infact very nice, would have prefered the backdrop to be jet black instead of olive green and looking creased. The lighting is very nice and so is the composition. Would love to see the outtakes on this one. |

Nice image but not sure if there is significant negative space to fit the challenge, still a nice image nevertheless. |
