Thanks a lot for all the comments! I do appreciate your input. Just a bit of an explanation of a blue tint on the boy's face - it's the reflection of the pool water of course... and yes, i did crop it out from the larger picture... but really, i mean it - thank you.
PS: 2/27/2019 - i always recommend "dpchallenge" to new digital photographers to learn things... looking at this photo now I can see all of the problems with it, but, when I first submitted it and got all of the comments, I didn't even understand all of them... live and learn. thank you again!

Interesting expression and composition. The focus and grain on this one doesn't help though, I don't think. The logo on the shirt also has a bit too much of a presence in this picture. |

I like the composition. It's a little too grainy/blurry for me, and there's some odd color shoing up on his right chin area -- I don't know if these are camera-based, intentional/unintentional adjustments, or compression-related. |

a bit grainy and a less tighter crop would look better |

A bit grainy and pixelated. Did you hit the sharpen function a few too many times? 5 Swash |

Very nice portrait and composition. Typically, you see the "cute kid" pictures (of which I'm not all that fond) but here there's quite a bit of psychology at work. Very effective composition and cropping. |

too grainy and coloring seems off. Not very clear. |

Hes a nice enough looking kid, but the lighting is flat, its blurred, youve got compression and overzooming defects, the subject looks is bored, the logo on the sweater is an irritation. There are so many ways you can improve on this. |

Nice perceptive. Seems a little 'Low Res"... Was this a crop from a much larger shot? The color of the shirt is great, but the logo keeps stealing my eyes away. Kind of distracting. Great model! Very photogenic :) |

This would have been OK if you hadn't compressed it so much. The filesize is only 19K. The golden letters on the right are also disturbing. |

the photo is quite pixelated, probably due to your very small file size. try and use one closer to the allowed max (150k) to get better quality pictures. as for the shot itself, he's a cute boy, but i don't like how he's looking up at the camera and the text on his shirt to the right is distracting. -- gr8photos (3) |

Great expression! This looks a little grainy. Is it cut from a larger picture? |

good composition, blurry focus doesn't work for me in this picture. |

Am I not getting something or is it just grainy? |

The trouble with pictures of loved ones is that no one else can relate to the subject. This picture could be alot sharper as well. |

It's a well-balanced shot as far as the composition left to right. I'd have preferred to see the top and bottom of his face as well, but that's a stylistic choice. |

His shirt logo is distracting and the whole shot seems over compressed. Soft focus. Still over all I like this portait of a cute little guy. KEE |

I like the composition, not a portrate for the wall, but the serious kid look makes this a keeper. Now the technical, the image seems to have an overall blue-red tint, if this was not intentional it could have something to do with a overcast day and the wqhite balence adjustment if your camers has that. also the soft focus normalu does no apeal to me when used in boy shots, I like to see the eyes in sharp clear focus. |
